The challenge
Where things stood
Fleet data was scattered across a GPS tracking tool, fuel card statements, and manually logged driver trip sheets. No one had a single view of cost per route, and fuel losses were only noticed weeks after they happened.
The approach
What we did
- Audited every data source and cleaned up inconsistent trip and fuel records
- Built an ETL pipeline pulling GPS, fuel card, and trip sheet data into one warehouse
- Built a Metabase dashboard showing cost per route, fuel variance, and driver performance in real time
- Set up automated weekly reports emailed to the operations manager
- Trained the ops team to build their own ad-hoc reports without needing a developer
