Mwenda Brian

Founder & AI Architect

Mwenda is the Founder and AI Architect at Biran Technologies.

A self-taught full-stack developer since his mid-teens, Mwenda has built production systems for businesses across Kenya, the UK, and the UAE — ranging from M-Pesa Daraja API integrations and multi-tenant SaaS platforms to AI voice agents and automated reconciliation pipelines. His deep expertise in the East African payments ecosystem, particularly M-Pesa Daraja, has made him the go-to architect for Kenyan fintech buildouts.

Mwenda founded Biran Technologies on a clear conviction: that African technical talent is world-class and belongs on the global stage — not as offshore labour, but as a premium engineering partner. The agency’s positioning as an African AI Architect is deliberate: Nairobi-built systems that meet the standards of the world’s most demanding clients.

Today, Biran Technologies serves clients from Nairobi to New York, delivering AI agents, automation pipelines, and digital infrastructure that rivals the output of agencies charging ten times the price.

What we stand for

Five principles. No exceptions.

These aren't aspirational values on a wall. They are commitments we make to every client on every project.

Premium Craft

No average work leaves our studio.

Every deliverable is designed, built, and tested to the standard of the world's best agencies — regardless of project size or budget.

Trust

Fixed prices. Written contracts.

Scope changes don't become surprise invoices. If it isn't in writing, it doesn't exist.

Reliability

On time. Every time.

30-day average delivery. We track our on-time record and publish it because we have nothing to hide.

Efficiency

Automation-first thinking.

We apply to our own operations the same automation mindset we bring to yours. We practice what we sell.

Connectivity

Nairobi to New York.

M-Pesa to Stripe. Local expertise with global reach. We bridge the infrastructure gap most agencies can't cross.

Why Nairobi?

Africa solved mobile money before the world realised it had a problem.

Nairobi is where mobile money changed the world before Silicon Valley noticed. M-Pesa — built by engineers in Kenya — processed more transactions than PayPal within two years of launch. What the world calls “fintech innovation” has been standard infrastructure here for fifteen years.

Engineers in Nairobi build for real constraints: intermittent connectivity, offline-first requirements, multi-currency reconciliation across M-Pesa, Airtel Money, and bank transfers. We build for the stack that works in Mombasa on a Monday morning with 2G signal. That is a harder problem than building for a San Francisco startup with Stripe and a fibre connection.

The same skills that solve infrastructure gaps produce better software globally. An AI system built to handle unreliable connectivity is inherently more resilient. A payment integration that reconciles M-Pesa, Stripe, and Payoneer is inherently more sophisticated. A developer who debugs in production because the staging environment doesn’t match reality is inherently more practical.

This is why Biran Technologies is based in Nairobi — not despite the constraints, but because of what solving them teaches.
